Ana Frichand

Prof. Dr. Ana Frichand is a Full Professor and Head of the Institute of Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University “St. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje. She holds a PhD in Psychological Sciences (2010) and has advanced through academic ranks from Junior Assistant (2003) to Full Professor. Her research focuses on developmental psychology, moral psychology, and conflict resolution, addressing issues like youth vulnerability, moral reasoning, and societal peacebuilding.

Education: B.A. (2001), M.A. (2007), and PhD (2010) from the Faculty of Philosophy, Skopje. Professional highlights include a 2008 U.S. Embassy scholarship for research in Minnesota and roles as Secretary General of the Macedonian American Alumni Association (2017–2019). She currently serves as Vice President of the Chamber of Psychologists of RSM.

Teaching: Leads courses on developmental psychology, conflict transformation, and moral development across all academic cycles. Research spans projects funded by UNICEF, USAID, and OSCE, emphasizing violence prevention, migrant child welfare, and cultural identity.

Her work bridges theoretical psychology with practical applications, such as designing socio-pedagogical interventions and analyzing moral virtues across cultures. Awards include recognition for her scholarship in 2008. She is internationally published, with over 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.

Labs/Teams: Coordinates research teams in the Institute of Psychology and collaborates with ministries on national education and health policies.
