Education:
- PhD in Literary Studies from the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages and Human Sciences, University of São Paulo (dissertation on character constellations in Machado de Assis' nineteenth-century novels).
Her research centers on gender dynamics in nineteenth-century transatlantic literary culture, examining how Brazilian and British women writers engaged with the 'Woman Question' through periodicals and fiction. She specializes in comparative analysis of Júlia Lopes de Almeida, Machado de Assis, Elizabeth Gaskell, George Eliot, and Virginia Woolf, with particular focus on the intersection of literature, journalism, and feminist discourse between 1850-1900. Her work also investigates the Rio de Janeiro British Subscription Library's role in disseminating women's writing across the Americas.
Funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation, her current UCL project expands her postdoctoral research into transnational feminist networks, analyzing how Victorian-era gender debates were adapted within Latin American cultural contexts through periodicals like the English Woman's Journal and Victoria Magazine.
