Ana Carolina Morandini

Ana Carolina Morandini is an Associate Professor at Augusta University's Dental College of Georgia, affiliated with the Department of Oral Biology and Diagnostic Sciences. Her work bridges oral immunobiology with metabolic regulation in inflammatory conditions.

Her research focuses on periodontal immunobiology, particularly the interplay between immunometabolism, purinergic signaling, and fibroblast-mediated inflammation in oral diseases. She has published extensively on mitochondrial function and metabolic reprogramming in periodontitis.

Dr. Morandini's scientific contributions have been recognized through prestigious awards including the IADR Joseph Lister Award and AADOCR Joseph Lister Award (2023), High Five My Faculty Award (2023), and Pierre Fauchard Academy Grant (2017). She currently serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Applied Oral Science and Vice-president for the AADOCR Georgia Section (2024-2025).
