Amy Sara Carroll is an Associate Professor of Literature and Literary Arts at the University of California, San Diego, with affiliations in Latin American Studies, Critical Gender Studies, Chicanx and Latinx Studies, Global South Studies, and Film Studies. Her interdisciplinary practice bridges poetry, performance art, and digital humanities, focusing on U.S.-Mexico border issues, migration, and technopolitical resistance.
- Education: Ph.D. and M.A. in Literature (Duke University), M.F.A. in Creative Writing (Cornell), M.A. in Anthropology (Chicago), A.B. in Anthropology and Poetry (Princeton)
Research Themes: Carroll’s work interrogates border aesthetics, undocumentation, and digital activism, often collaborating with Electronic Disturbance Theater 2.0/3.0 on projects like the Transborder Immigrant Tool. Her publications span art history, queer theory, and transnational feminist critiques.
