Amy Omi

Amy Omi serves as an Adjunct Professor of Music and Assistant Director for the Office of Justice, Equity, and Inclusion at Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. She began her tenure at Dominican in 2011 as Music Liturgist, directing the Liturgical Choir and training pastoral musicians, later serving as University Minister for Liturgy and the Arts (2015-2021), and currently coordinates the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) Campus Center which actively resists racial injustice on campus and in surrounding communities.

Omi's professional focus integrates restorative justice methodologies with artistic practice, specializing in Healing Circle facilitation to create brave spaces for dialogue and healing across diverse communities. Her work explicitly challenges white supremacy through dismantling hierarchies of human value, building trust via collaborative partnerships that bridge racial divides while celebrating cultural diversity through liturgical arts.

As TRHT Campus Center coordinator, Omi leads institutional initiatives for racial healing and transformation, utilizing her Healing Circle Practitioner certification to implement restorative processes that address historical trauma. Her approach uniquely fuses musical liturgy with social justice frameworks to cultivate inclusive environments where communities can collectively heal, learn, and build equitable futures.
