Amy Molitor is a Senior Lecturer and Co-Chair of the Environmental Studies department at Whitman College. She earned her Ph.D. in Forestry and M.S. in Wildland Recreation Management from the University of Montana, alongside a B.S. in Wildland Recreation Management from the University of Idaho. Her research focuses on environmental education, the human dimensions of wildlife management, and sustainable tourism, particularly in contexts involving grizzly bear habitats and backcountry visitor studies.
She has conducted fieldwork in Glacier National Park, examining backcountry visitor attitudes toward grizzly bears, trail use estimation, and travel patterns.
