معرفی
Professor Amy Milton is a University Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Cambridge and the Ferreras-Willetts Fellow in Neuroscience at Downing College. Her research focuses on behavioral neuroscience and comparative cognition, with a strong emphasis on understanding the neurobiological mechanisms underlying memory reconsolidation, addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the role of glutamate receptors in these processes. She leads the Cambridge Mind LAB and collaborates with prominent researchers such as Professors Barry J. Everitt and Trevor W. Robbins.
Her work bridges preclinical and translational models, exploring how maladaptive memories contribute to psychiatric disorders and developing interventions targeting memory destabilization. Recent studies highlight contributions to PTSD susceptibility via mitochondrial dysfunction, rodent models of compulsive checking in OCD, and the role of reward processing in anorexia nervosa.
Professor Milton’s research integrates molecular neuroscience, behavioral analysis, and clinical applications, with a focus on advancing therapies for mental health disorders. She is actively involved in training PhD students and contributes to academic leadership within the Department of Psychology.
