Amy Larson Rhodes is a Professor of Geosciences at Smith College. She specializes in low-temperature environmental geochemistry, teaching aqueous geochemistry and introductory geology courses. Her research focuses on human-environment interactions in geochemical systems, particularly soil and water chemistry responses to ecological changes.

Research Interests
Rhodes investigates how forest succession impacts nitrogen cycling in soils, with a focus on Eastern Hemlock to Black Birch transitions. She also studies anthropogenic impacts on water quality, including road salt pollution in bogs/fens and land use effects on watershed health. Her work spans locations in Massachusetts, Costa Rica, and Pennsylvania.
