معرفی
Dr. Amy Howard is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London, Faculty of Engineering. Her research focuses on developing neuroimaging methods to analyze brain microstructure and connectivity, integrating diffusion MRI with microscopy techniques. Previously, she was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (FMRIB) at the University of Oxford, where she completed her DPhil (PhD equivalent).
Her research interests include neurosciences, image processing, and radiology, with a particular emphasis on advancing methodologies for structural connectome mapping and validating diffusion MRI through post-mortem studies. She contributes to open-access resources like the BigMac Dataset and the Digital Brain Bank, promoting collaboration in neuroimaging research.
Dr. Howard’s work bridges clinical and preclinical imaging, emphasizing high-resolution techniques and ex vivo imaging standards. She collaborates with international groups like the ISMRM Diffusion Study Group to establish best practices for diffusion MRI applications. Her methodologies, such as the Bayesian EstimatioN of CHange (BENCH) framework and hybrid MRI-microscopy tractography, aim to enhance the accuracy of brain structure and connectivity analyses.
