Amy Eyler is a Professor at the Brown School of Washington University in St. Louis, with a focus on how policies and the built/natural environment influence chronic disease prevention through physical activity and healthy eating. She has held leadership roles including Deputy Director of the Prevention Research Center, Assistant Dean for Public Health, and currently serves as Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs. Her work spans academic, institutional, and community domains, emphasizing evidence-based solutions to reduce obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
- Education: PhD in Public Health from Oregon State University.
Her research explores the intersection of policy, environmental design, and health behaviors, particularly in underserved communities. She is co-leading the Nature and Health Alliance at WashU to investigate health benefits of nature exposure and address access barriers through an IGNITE interdisciplinary grant.
Leadership and community engagement are central to her career, including roles as President of the Association for Women Faculty, Chair of the Faculty Senate Council, and Vice Chair of Girls on the Run St. Louis. She has authored 129 peer-reviewed publications and three books, including Research Methods for Public Health (2021).
