Amy Eppler-Epstein is a Visiting Clinical Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School, part of Yale University. She has been a staff attorney at New Haven Legal Assistance since 1986, focusing on housing law, family law, immigration, and re-entry advocacy.
Eppler-Epstein holds a J.D. from Yale Law School (1986) and a Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) from Brown University (1982).
Her research and advocacy concentrate on housing rights, immigration law, criminal justice reform, and civil rights. She has pioneered initiatives such as a school-based legal clinic and efforts to protect tenants post-foreclosure, earning significant national impact.
Eppler-Epstein has developed innovative legal service models, including a pro se DACA clinic and a coalition to reform Connecticut’s sex offender registration laws. She has secured notable legal victories, such as a $2.845 million fair housing judgment and advocacy before the Connecticut Supreme Court to establish a constitutional right to shelter.
Her work involves collaboration through initiatives like the school-based legal clinic and partnerships to address systemic legal challenges for marginalized communities.
