Amy Blea

Amy Blea serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor and dedicated educator with over a decade of teaching experience. She currently instructs workshops at the Glendale Central Library Makerspace, specializing in apparel construction techniques including patternmaking, sewing, and tailoring.

Her academic foundation includes:

• Apparel Design degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York
• Business and Marketing degree from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo

Amy's professional expertise bridges haute couture techniques with contemporary business strategy. Her research interests emphasize sustainable design practices, digital transformation of 2D-3D patternmaking, and community-based fashion education. With industry experience at Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Nanette Lepore, she integrates luxury craftsmanship with entrepreneurial innovation.

As an advisor, Amy has mentored countless students through hands-on workshops, fostering technical proficiency in garment construction. She founded Seed Clothing—a globally sold women's apparel brand operating as a practical design laboratory—and actively cultivates emerging talent through the Glendale Makerspace's collaborative environment.
