Amy Arbogast is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Speaking Fellow Program at the University of Rochester's Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program. She is based in Rush Rhees Library and oversees undergraduate speaking fellows, providing training and support. Her expertise spans public speaking, speech anxiety mitigation, neurodivergent speaker advocacy, and authenticity in communication.
Arbogast holds a BA in History from Allegheny College and a PhD in History from the University of Rochester. She also founded Spark Speak, a private coaching business focused on public speaking. She has a forthcoming book under contract with the MLA, titled a guide for college humanities students on class presentations, anticipated for publication in 2026.
Her professional activities include frequent conference presentations on topics such as neurodivergent speaker inclusivity and authentic communication strategies. She emphasizes teaching, coaching, and supporting speaking fellows through innovative pedagogical approaches.
