Dr. Amit Chattopadhyay is a Reader (mapped to Associate Professor) in Mathematics at Aston University's College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, School of Computer Science and Digital Technologies. He earned a PhD from the University of Birmingham and held prior positions at the University of Delhi and the University of Edinburgh. His interdisciplinary research spans Data-Assisted Stochastic Mathematics (DASMM), computational biology (e.g., cardiovascular modeling, epidemiology), nonequilibrium systems (e.g., nanocomposites, liquid crystals), and social sciences (e.g., inequality dynamics, supply chains).
He teaches undergraduate modules including Vector Algebra, Financial Mathematics, and Mathematical Modeling. Funded projects include econometric modeling of poverty and e-waste networks. His articles focus on machine learning applications in healthcare, econometrics, and supply chains, with recent work on tumor progression and e-waste optimization.
Awards: Marie Curie Incoming International Fellowship (2006) and the Growth Dynamics in the Strong Coupling Limit Fellowship.
