Amir Syed

Amir Syed is an Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia, specializing in West African History, Islamic Intellectual History, Atlantic History, Anthropology of Religion, and Arabic Manuscripts. His research focuses on the intersection of religious authority and political imagination in precolonial African history, particularly within the Sahel region.
