Amir Sariri is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at Purdue University. He focuses on technology commercialization, entrepreneurial finance, and the economics of science. His research examines how business advice influences early-stage firm development and growth. Prior to Purdue, he led the R&D group at the Creative Destruction Lab.
He holds a PhD from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. His work appears in Management Science and has been featured in The Economist, Globe and Mail, and Frankfurter Allgemeine.
His grants include the Royal Bank of Canada’s Borealis AI Fellowship, Canada’s Strategic Innovation Fund, and the Heizer Dissertation Award.
Research interests emphasize translating academic innovations into commercial applications, as highlighted in media discussions about startup ecosystems and AI research commercialization.
