Amir Sapkota, Ph.D., is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Maryland's School of Public Health. His research focuses on climate change impacts on health, including extreme weather effects on respiratory and renal diseases, and plant phenology's link to allergies. He leads projects like Maryland's Climate and Health Profile Report and the AWARD-APR initiative for diarrheal disease early warnings in the Asia-Pacific region.
