Amina Lalor (she/her) is a mixed Vietnamese-Irish-Métis designer and researcher affiliated with the University of Guelph. Her work centers on Indigenous land-based research and decolonizing architectural practices within settler-colonial contexts.
- Education: Bachelor of Architectural Studies and Master of Architecture from the University of Waterloo
- Current roles: Assistant Professor and researcher
- Key projects: Co-founder of Treaty Lands, Global Stories, collaborator on SSHRC-funded Where the Rivers Meet initiative
Her research explores ethical architecture on Indigenous lands, emphasizing cultural preservation and challenging colonial narratives. She is actively involved in advocating for curricula that reflect Indigenous perspectives and student diversity.
Amina contributes to the Indigenous land-based research lab Nokom’s House, co-developed with Dr. Kim Anderson, Dr. Sheri Longboat, and Dr. Brittany Luby, to center Indigenous scholarship in design practices.
