His research explores the temporal, historical, and existential dimensions of contemporary capitalism, focusing on money, debt, and finance. He has published extensively on financial nihilism, libidinal political economy, economic theology, and the aesthetics of finance. His current work, including the forthcoming monograph Currency of Nihilism (Stanford University Press, 2026), examines the interplay between financial mechanisms and metaphysical fictions.
Recent publications highlight trends in financial metaphors, speculative economics, and post-disciplinary frameworks, with recurring subfields such as financial eschatology, libidinal economy, economic theology, and digital capitalism. His work often bridges philosophy (e.g., Nietzsche, Baudrillard) with financial systems and cultural analysis.
Scientific awards include the Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowship (2023-24). He has held visiting positions at the University of Heidelberg, University of Lausanne, and UCL. His editorial leadership in Finance and Society underscores his role in advancing interdisciplinary finance studies.
