Amin Asfor

Dr. Amin Asfor is a Lecturer in Virology and Immunology at the University of Surrey, based in the School of Veterinary Medicine under the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. His research focuses on translational science, including virus antigenicity, viral immune evasion, and vaccine development.

Education:

• Bachelor's in Veterinary Medicine (Alexandria University)
• PhD in Molecular Virology (Royal Veterinary College, University of London & APHA)

Research Interests:

• Development of immunoassays for diagnostics and vaccine quality control
• Mechanisms of viral immune escape and antigenic variation
• Design of multivalent vaccines targeting avian coronaviruses and infectious bursal disease

• 2019 Innovator of the Year Finalist (BBSRC)
