معرفی
Amie Norton is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Entomology at Kansas State University. Her work focuses on applying nanotechnology to address arthropod-related challenges, particularly in pesticide development and environmental solutions. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati (2017) and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Missouri-Columbia (2009), with minors in Sociology and Religious Studies. Her postdoctoral research included studies at USDA-ARS and Bowling Green State University.
Her research combines chemistry and entomology to create innovative biopesticides and functional materials, such as silver-coated nanoparticles for insect control and gold-coated cereal particles. She teaches Nanotechnology Entomology (ENTOM 799) in the fall semester.
Her publications span topics like nitrate sensing using platinum-based materials, larvicidal silver nanoparticles against mosquitoes and midges, and laboratory safety assessments. Her work bridges nanotechnology applications with ecological and agricultural challenges.
While no formal advisees are listed, her research collaborations include projects on insecticide development and material synthesis. She contributes to interdisciplinary teams addressing pest management and environmental safety.
