Dr. Amia Nash Chambers is a Quarterly Lecturer in Public Health at Santa Clara University. As an SCU alum and former athlete, her research focuses on youth health equity through community-engaged approaches. She specializes in social and emotional learning initiatives and youth participatory action research methodologies.
Her academic work explores how sociopolitical development intersects with educational outcomes to promote youth well-being. She develops and evaluates interventions that center youth voices in health program design and implementation.
Dr. Chambers received the Community Hero Award from Santa Clara County in 2024 for her policy work on adolescent mental health. She mentors students from underrepresented backgrounds and promotes anti-racist approaches in academic research and teaching.
