Americo Braz Carlos is a Visiting Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Taxation at ISCTE-IUL (since 1991) and ISCTE Executive Education. He holds a Law Degree from the Lisbon School of Law (FDL).

- Professional Roles: Consultant to the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (Fiscal Affairs Department and Legal Department), and the United States Treasury's Tax Program; Coordinator of the Economic and Social Council; Inspector General of the Justice Services
- Publications: Author of Taxes - General Theory (6 editions) and co-author of Taxes in Portugal (35 editions)
