Amelia Haviland

Amelia Haviland is the E.J. Barone Professor of Health Systems Management and an Associate Professor at Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University, since 2011. Prior to this, she was a Senior Statistician at the RAND Corporation, where she worked after completing her joint PhD in statistics and public policy at Carnegie Mellon University in 2003. Her interdisciplinary work bridges statistics and public policy, focusing on causal analysis with observational data and longitudinal survey methodologies.

• Research Focus: Causal inference, health disparities, medical malpractice, criminology, and group-based trajectory modeling.
