Amber Simpson

Dr. Amber Simpson is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing and Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences at Queen's University, specializing in biomedical data science and computer-aided surgery. She holds the Canada Research Chair in Biomedical Computing and Informatics and is a faculty affiliate at the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence. Her research focuses on developing computational strategies for cancer treatment, leveraging medical imaging data to advance precision oncology.

Her work bridges computing with clinical oncology, developing biomarkers to improve patient care through advanced image analysis algorithms and surgical device development. She collaborates with oncologists, radiologists, and surgeons to translate large-scale medical data into clinical technologies.

Dr. Simpson supervises postdoctoral fellows in developing novel computing approaches for cancer diagnostics. She has received multiple NIH grants and an American Association of Cancer Research award for her contributions to the field.
