Amber Harper

Amber Harper serves as a Research Associate at Leuphana University's Institute for Culture and Aesthetics of Digital Media (ICAM), affiliated with the Professorship for Media Theory and Media History in Lüneburg, Germany.

Her research spans Media Theory, Media History, Digital Media, Sound Studies, and Media Aesthetics, with focused projects including Elements of a critical theory of media participation and Scoring - Analysis of the social credit system in the VR China and of scoring in the West. This work critically examines digital participation frameworks and comparative social credit mechanisms across geopolitical contexts.

Dr. Harper contributes to ICAM's academic ecosystem supporting Bachelor programs in Digital Media/Cultural Informatics and Cultural Studies, along with Master's programs in Cultural Studies within Leuphana's knowledge infrastructure.
