Amanda Nichols Hess

Amanda Nichols Hess is a Professor and Coordinator of Instruction & Research Help at Oakland University's Library. She serves as the Liaison Librarian to the School of Education and Human Services. Her research focuses on information literacy instruction, blended/online learning design, and instructional technology integration. Hess holds a PhD in Educational Leadership (Oakland University, 2017), an Ed.S. in Instructional Technology (Wayne State University, 2014), and an MLIS from the University of Michigan.

Her work emphasizes transforming pedagogical practices through frameworks like the ACRL Framework and the ADDIE model. Key contributions include developing modular online learning systems, advancing research data management instruction for social science doctoral students, and advocating for user-centered web tutorial design.
