Amanda Minervini is an Associate Professor of Italian at Colorado College, serving as Chair of the Paul F. Sheffer Fund for Roman Catholic Studies Committee and Founding Director of EGLHE (Equine-Guided Learning and Healing Experience). She holds a PhD in Italian Studies from Brown University (2013), an MA in Comparative Literature from UMass Amherst (2007), and a BA in Literature and Philosophy from Università di Bari, Italy (2002).
Her research spans Fascism studies, animal-human relations, and Italian cultural history. Key interests include:
- Political iconography and religious symbolism in Fascist Italy
- Race theory and Black Italian cinema
- Equine-assisted learning methodologies
- Documentary film analysis
EGLHE, a non-profit she founded, integrates equine interaction into education and mental health support. Recent grants include Creativity & Innovation funding for pedagogical animation projects and the Sheffer Grant for Vatican Archives research.
