Amanda Ludlow is an Associate Professor and Head of the Psychology and NeuroDiversity Applied Research Unit at the University of Hertfordshire. She holds dual affiliations within the Department of Psychology, Sport and Geography and the School of Life and Medical Sciences. Her research focuses on neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly the lived experiences of children and families, with a focus on sensory and eating challenges, healthcare access, and mental health support.
She has held external roles, including Research Associate at the University of Birmingham and External Examiner at Oxford Brookes University and Middlesex University. Her work spans clinical, educational, and policy domains, addressing topics like school non-attendance, sensory difficulties in neurodevelopmental disorders, and co-design approaches in special education. Recent projects include Adapt-Ed (food provision adaptations in special schools) and studies on Tourette’s in adulthood.
