Amanda Haney-Cech serves as the Director of the Academic Resource Center (ARC) at Marietta College, overseeing all departmental operations. She is also an instructor, teaching First-Year Experience (FYE) courses such as FYE 102 and FYE 105 to equip students with essential academic skills. Her career has focused on student success, including her prior role as Assistant Director of the Upward Bound College Prep Academy at Washington State Community College.
She holds a Master of Arts in Liberal Learning (2006) from Marietta College, a BA in English (1998) from the University of Cincinnati, and an AA in Liberal Arts (1996) from Washington State Community College. Since 2008, she has been actively involved at Marietta College, offering workshops on time-management, study skills, note-taking, and test-taking strategies for the campus community.
Her professional contributions emphasize fostering student academic resilience and transition to higher education. She resides in Marietta with her husband David and daughter Geneva.
