Amanda Grimes

Amanda Grimes is an Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing and Health Studies, University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), where she has been teaching in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program since 2013 and holds a tenure-track position since 2018. She actively participates in the Faculty Senate and contributes to community initiatives through her board roles.

• Research Focus: Health and social factors of bicycling across the lifespan.
• Active transportation promotion among diverse populations.
• Social isolation and fall prevention in older adults.

Her work includes studies on barriers/motivators for middle to older-aged cyclists, impacts of earn-a-bike programs for homeless men in Kansas City, and low-income South African citizens. She is affiliated with the UMKC Aging Consortium and serves as Board President for Bike Share KC.
