Amanda Glueck, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She holds affiliations with the Glueck Lab and the Center for Advanced Translational Stroke Science (CATSS). Her research focuses on traumatic brain injury (TBI), specifically exploring novel interventions for mild cognitive impairment, including video game-based rehabilitation and dietary supplements. She completed her PhD in Experimental Psychology at Texas Christian University and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Naval Medical Research Center. Her current projects investigate neurocognitive deficits in mTBI and the efficacy of mixed reality games and beta-hydroxybutyrate in aiding recovery.
Education:
- Bachelor’s in Psychology, Centre College (Danville, KY)
- Master’s and PhD in Experimental Psychology, Texas Christian University (Fort Worth, TX)
- Postdoctoral Fellowship, Henry M. Jackson Foundation/Naval Medical Research Center (Silver Spring, MD)
Research Interests: TBI pathophysiology, neurorehabilitation strategies, cognitive recovery mechanisms, and the application of virtual reality technologies in clinical settings. Her work bridges basic science and translational research to develop evidence-based interventions for brain injury patients.
Labs/Teams: Directs the Glueck Lab, collaborating with the Kentucky Neuroscience Institute to advance TBI research. Current projects include dietary supplement trials (KICCR Study) and game-based cognitive training studies for clinical populations.
