Dr. Amanda D Lotz is a Professor at the Digital Media Research Centre (DMRC) within the Faculty of Creative Industries at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Her research focuses on media industries, streaming platforms, cultural policy, and the global transformation of television. She has authored influential books including Streaming Video: Storytelling Across Borders (2023) and Media Disrupted (2021), and edited volumes on global streaming strategies and Australian television policy. Her work bridges media economics, cultural studies, and audience behavior, with a focus on digital media's impact on traditional television models.
Her research highlights the shift from mass media to microaudience targeting, the challenges of cultural policy in the streaming era, and the global strategies of non-US streaming services.
