Amanda Collins

Amanda Collins is an Assistant Professor at the T.H. Chan School of Medicine, University of Massachusetts Medical School, where she serves as the Director of Anatomical Services in the Department of Radiology. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Gerontology at UMass Boston.

• Education: BS in Family Social Science (University of Minnesota), MPH in Public Health (University of Vermont)

Research interests span preservation techniques, lab safety, grief/bereavement, end-of-life care ethics, and body donation representation. Her work bridges anatomical science with gerontological perspectives on aging and health disparities.

Scientific awards include:

• UMass Chan Educational Achievement (Star) Award (2021, 2022)
• Tri-Alpha & Sigma Phi Omega Honor Societies (2021, 2022)
• American Association of Clinical Anatomists Anatomical Services Award (2020)

Leadership roles include co-chairing the Gerontological Society of America's Rainbow Research Group, serving on the Anatomical Gift Program Oversight Committee, and co-founding the Eastern Consortium for Academic Body Donation Programs. She actively contributes to organizations including the American Association for Anatomy and National Funeral Directors Association.
