Amanda Burkholder

Dr. Amanda Burkholder is Assistant Professor of Psychology at Furman University. Her research examines children's moral reasoning about prejudice, social inequalities, and intergroup relationships using constructivist frameworks.

Key studies investigate how multiple group memberships (race, gender, wealth) shape social perceptions, evaluations of unequal policies, and contextual influences on fairness judgments. Publications include meta-analyses on prejudice reduction interventions and experimental studies of resource allocation in biased contexts.

Research employs mixed methods to analyze how peer/parental influences affect interracial encounters and how children justify exclusion in interwealth scenarios. Teaching includes General Psychology, Childhood Development, and Research Methods courses.
