معرفی
Amanda Albright Olsen is an Associate Professor in the School of Earth and Climate Sciences at the University of Maine. Her research focuses on mineral-biota-water interactions in changing climates, planetary geochemistry (e.g., Mars), and tropical watershed dynamics. She employs laboratory experiments, geochemical modeling, and field studies.
Research interests include mineral weathering kinetics, CO2 sequestration in mafic/ultramafic rocks, and how plants influence nutrient liberation from minerals under elevated CO2. Recent work addresses mineral stability in planetary systems and trace metal geochemistry.
Publications include studies on serpentinite weathering mechanisms (2023) and plant effects on apatite weathering (2020). No scientific awards are listed here. She leads the Mineral Weathering Lab and the Environmental Geochemistry Group, utilizing techniques like ICP-MS and electron microscopy.
