Amal Amar-Alattaby is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator at the Midwifery Program within the School of Health Professions. She holds a DM (doctorate in midwifery) from Jefferson University (2023) and graduated from the Stony Brook Midwifery Program in 2009. Her academic roles include Clinical Site Coordinator, Course Coordinator/Instructor for courses such as Antepartum Care and Health Care Policy, and Clinical Site Liaison.
With over a decade of experience, Dr. Amar-Alattaby specializes in the midwifery model of care, focusing on comprehensive and compassionate patient outcomes. She has held leadership roles, including Director of Midwifery at NYU Langone Brooklyn Hospital, and contributes to midwifery education as an adjunct faculty member at NYU Meyers College of Nursing. Her expertise spans clinical and academic settings, emphasizing teamwork in women’s healthcare and community outreach.
Her research and practice address prenatal care, reproductive health, and disease prevention in minority communities, particularly the Arab-speaking population in Brooklyn. She advocates for breastfeeding education and baby-friendly environments. Dr. Amar-Alattaby’s contributions were recognized with the 2020 American College of Nurse Midwives Outstanding Preceptor Award.
