Amadeu Delshams

Amadeu Delshams is a Full Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), affiliated with the Departament de Matemàtiques and the Laboratory of Geometry and Dynamical Systems at EPSEB. He holds a Ph.D. from the Universitat de Barcelona (1983) under Carles Simó. His research focuses on Dynamical Systems, particularly Hamiltonian systems, Arnold diffusion, celestial mechanics, and symplectic geometry. He has advised 13 Ph.D. students and authored a textbook on numerical calculus in Catalan/Spanish. Delshams is a member of the UPC Dynamical Systems Group, the UB-UPC Dynamical Systems Group, and the DANCE network. He serves on editorial boards for journals like Journal of Differential Equations and Qualitative Theory of Dynamical Systems. His work includes groundbreaking studies on splitting of separatrices, global instability in celestial mechanics, and geometric mechanisms for diffusion in Hamiltonian systems.
