Alvaro Santos is Professor of Law and Faculty Director of the Center for the Advancement of the Rule of Law in the Americas (CAROLA) at Georgetown Law. He is actively engaged in research and teaching in international trade, economic development, transnational labor law, and drug policy. He previously served as Deputy Chief Negotiator of the USMCA Agreement for Mexico's newly elected government in 2018 and was Co-Director of the Center for Transnational Legal Studies (CTLS) in London during 2014–2015.
His educational background includes an LL.B. with high honors from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), followed by an LLM and SJD from Harvard Law School.
