Dr. Alp Arslan is International Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Lancaster University Management School. His research focuses on optimizing last-mile delivery systems through spatial data science approaches, particularly in crowdsourced and on-demand service contexts.
Research Focus: Arslan develops algorithms for time-sensitive delivery systems including meal delivery platforms and personal shopper services. His work improves resource allocation in gig economy logistics while balancing customer experience and labor conditions.
Awards & Recognition: Recipient of the Transportation Science Meritorious Service Award for contributions to logistics optimization research. Currently supervises PhD candidate Jing Lyu in supply chain optimization.
