Dr. Alok K. Bohara is a Full Professor of Economics and founding director of the Nepal Study Center at the University of New Mexico (UNM). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Boulder (1986) and has been at UNM since 1987. His research focuses on interdisciplinary questions in environment, health, and sustainability, utilizing field experiments and big data. He has published over 90 peer-reviewed articles and mentored >20 PhD students.
Education: Masters in Statistics (Tribhuvan University, Nepal); Ph.D. in Economics (University of Colorado, 1986). Additional roles include senior research fellow at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Center for Health Policy.
