Prof. Dr. Almut Shulamit Bruckstein is a visiting professor and fellow at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (FTSK Germersheim), focusing on intercultural studies, art curation, and translation theory. She leads the Taswir Project, an international platform blending artistic research with diasporic thought. Her work bridges contemporary art, psychoanalysis, gender studies, and ancient texts like the Talmud and Kalam literature.
Recent projects include a translational workshop series exploring deviations in simultaneous interpretation, and an artistic residency in Mainz’s Orangerei space, collaborating with the Transculturalization Forum. She has held visiting roles at institutions globally, emphasizing post-essentialist translation discourses and performative research methodologies.
