Dr Ally Daubney is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Education at the School of Education and Social Work, University of Sussex. She is based in Essex House and can be reached via email at A.Daubney@sussex.ac.uk.
Research Interests: Dr Daubney specializes in Music Education, Arts Curriculum Development, and International Education, with a focus on evaluating learning outcomes from community arts projects, developing web-based pedagogical frameworks for international continuing professional development (CPD), and advancing pedagogic skills for music practitioners in formal and non-formal settings. She has contributed to international curriculum and assessment development in creative arts, particularly through collaborations with the University of Cambridge since 2009.
Publications and Research Trends: Her recent articles address topics such as peer-to-peer learning in educational reform, the role of music in primary national curricula, and cross-cultural teacher-led change. These works reflect her commitment to Arts Education and Global Education Policy, with methodological expertise in Program Evaluation and Curriculum Development.
Academic Roles and Collaborations: Dr Daubney supervises MA and MSc dissertation students on topics spanning music psychology, education, and international education. She has co-edited the British Journal of Music Education since 2006 and participated in projects funded by the European Union Comenius grant (2006–2009) and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation (2013). She has taught on PGCE, MSc, and MA programs in the UK, Sweden, and Greece.
