Allison S. Lankford

Allison S. Lankford, MD serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She is a dual-specialty maternal fetal medicine specialist and critical care physician practicing in both the obstetric care unit and the cardiac surgery intensive care unit at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

She leads interdisciplinary collaboration through the Complex Obstetric Surgery Program under Dr. Ozhan Turan, developing protocols for critically ill obstetric patients and advancing maternal-fetal surgical interventions.

She actively mentors residents and fellows across surgical critical care, cardiac surgery, maternal fetal medicine, and obstetric anesthesiology programs. Her clinical practice bridges obstetrics and critical care medicine, focusing on transport logistics for critically ill pregnant patients and reducing maternal mortality through innovative critical care approaches.
