Allison E. Butterfield is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Lasell University within the School of Humanities, Education, Justice & Social Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Criminology and Justice Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, with a dissertation on education and training in substance use disorders among probation officers.

Her research focuses on community corrections, restorative justice, juvenile justice, and substance use among offenders. She currently serves as an area representative for the American Probation and Parole Association.
