Allen Bellas is a faculty member at Metropolitan State University since 2004, affiliated with the College of Management. Holding a PhD in Economics from the University of Washington, his work bridges environmental economics, public policy, and technological innovation.
Research and Teaching Interests: Dr. Bellas focuses on environmental economics, benefit-cost analysis, and social policy, with courses like ECON 311: Economics of the Environment and ECON 300: Analytical and Quantitative Methods for Economists. His research spans pollution regulation, health insurance for alternative medicine, and technological advancements in US power plants.
Publications and Impact: Recent work explores economics education equity (2024) and pandemic policy trade-offs (2023), building on decades of contributions to environmental regulation and energy policy. He co-authored the textbook A Primer for Benefit-Cost Analysis (2008).
