Dr. Allan Felsot is a Professor and Extension Specialist at Washington State University's Department of Entomology, within the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences. His work bridges academia and public service, focusing on pesticide risk assessment, environmental chemistry, and integrated pest management. He holds a Ph.D. in Entomology from Iowa State University (1978), an M.S. from the University of Florida (1974), and a B.S. in Biology from Tulane University (1972).
Research interests span probabilistic risk modeling, pesticide drift mitigation, biotechnology hazard assessments, and toxicology. He advises governmental agencies on pesticide safety and trains applicators. His teaching includes courses like BIOLOGY 420: Plant Physiology and ENTOM 343: General Entomology, emphasizing ecological and technological dimensions of pest management.
Recent publications address pesticide residues in cannabis, pollinator health, and water quality in Malawi.
