Allan Abbott is a Professor in Physiotherapy at the Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Linköping University. He holds a joint appointment at the Orthopedic Clinic, Linköping University Hospital, where he contributes to clinical service (20%). His research spans musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardio-respiratory physiotherapy, with a focus on spinal orthopedics and chronic pain.
- Research Interests: Etiology/prevention of spinal deformities, diagnostics/treatment of back/neck pain, outcome prediction, and evidence-based physiotherapeutic interventions.
- Credentials: PhD in Medical Science (2010, Karolinska Institute), Master's in Physiotherapy (2001, Griffith University), and Bachelor's in Exercise Science (1999, Griffith University).
- Teaching: Lectures, PBL tutorials, and examiner for undergraduate/postgraduate courses in diagnosis/treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.
