Aliyah B Essop

Aliyah B Essop serves as a Senior Lecturer and Academic Portfolio Lead for Engineering Management at the School of Engineering, University of Greenwich. She heads the Engineering Management Portfolio, which encompasses undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Engineering Management, Global Shipping Management, Digital Technology Solutions, and Engineering Design and Innovation.

Her research and teaching interests focus on Engineering Management, Strategic Management, and Accounting and Finance within engineering contexts. She champions inclusivity to enhance student learning experiences and foster growth mindsets, having served as the School of Engineering's Inclusivity Champion.

Prior to her current role, she lectured in Economics at the University of Cape Town, supporting post-apartheid academic development programmes. At Greenwich, she collaborates with local employers to integrate employability initiatives into her curriculum, emphasizing practical industry relevance.
