Alissa Ferry is a Lecturer in Language & Communication Development at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Division of Psychology Communication and Human Neuroscience (L5). She holds a PhD from Northwestern University (2011), an MSc from Northwestern (2009), and a BSc from the University of Pittsburgh (2006). Her research focuses on language development, cognitive development, infancy studies, and neuroimaging. She serves as an Assistant Editor for Developmental Psychology and collaborates with the ManyBabies Consortium.
Her work explores topics such as children's understanding of size comparison words, infant categorization, and morphological regularities in language. She employs neuroimaging techniques and interdisciplinary approaches to study developmental processes. Ferry’s research has been widely cited, with notable contributions to understanding early cognitive and linguistic milestones.
